KalinaBot

What this is

KalinaBot is the crawler behind Kalina, a household meal-planning tool. It reads public recipe pages so Kalina can point people to them. It identifies itself as KalinaBot/1.0 with a link to this page.

What we store

• The recipe title and a link back to the page it came from
• Ingredient facts (what is in a dish), used to run allergy and diet safety checks
• Basic structure: servings, time, cuisine

Kalina is a referral index. Every recipe it shows links out to the site that published it.

What we never store

• Instruction text. The writing stays at the source, where readers are sent.
• Photos. Images are never copied or re-hosted.

How it crawls

• Obeys robots.txt, re-checked on every fetch
• Waits at least 10 seconds between requests to a site
• Never logs in, never bypasses a paywall

Don't want KalinaBot on your site? Write to hello@kalinahelps.com and we will remove your pages and stop crawling, permanently. Removal comes first; questions after. You can also block KalinaBot in robots.txt, which we honor on the next fetch.
