How Kalina works
I plan your dinners from one meal you already love — then I remember what you need and stay ahead of the week. Full access is invite-only right now: a full week, smarter shopping from a kitchen photo, and proactive planning.
Haven't tried it yet? Three nights free on the home page.
What an invite opens
The home page gives you three dinners and a basic list. With an account, I plan your full week and the grocery list gets sharper once I know your kitchen.
Your full week
Seven nights with a mix of cooking styles and your standing rituals. I'll call out nights that look too packed. Review the draft, accept it, or ask for another.
A photo of your kitchen, a smarter list
Snap what's in your fridge or pantry. I'll square the grocery list against what's already there.
I plan ahead when you want me to
Like a week you accepted? I can draft the next one before you ask, so your week is already there when you open the app. You choose when to hand that off; revoke anytime.
I learn without asking
I pick up taste from what you cook, what you swap, and what's on your shelf. No post-meal check-ins, no recurring surveys. Correct me when I'm wrong.
Tonight
When you're too tired to think about dinner, I hold tonight's pick without nagging you. One main dish, a backup if you need it, and a way out if tonight isn't a cook night.
What I check before a dish reaches you
Tell me what to keep out and I check every dish against it before it reaches you. The label on what you buy is the last check. Here's exactly what that check covers, and what it can't see.

Questions people ask
How is this different from a recipe site?
A recipe site hands you a catalogue and asks you to browse it. I plan several nights at once, and I build the rest of them around what the first night already puts in your basket, so you shop once and the ingredients get used. Send me a photo of your fridge or pantry and I'll square the list against what you already have. What comes out the other end is one grocery list sorted by aisle, ready to send to Kroger or Walmart.
What if someone here has a food allergy?
Every recipe is checked against what you've told me to avoid before it reaches you. Where I can't read an ingredient, the recipe site's own label has to clear it before the dish can go through.
You can tell me to keep out dairy, eggs, fish, gluten, peanuts, sesame, shellfish, soy, tree nuts or wheat. I can plan around no red meat, pescatarian, pork-free, vegan and vegetarian too.
Two limits are worth knowing. The recipes are published by other people, so an ingredient list can be incomplete, or change after I've read it. And I can't see the specific product you buy, where brands reformulate and shared equipment never appears in an ingredient list.
So I narrow what you consider. I am not the last check before someone eats. Read the label on the food you actually buy, every time.
Is it free?
Free while we're in beta. If we start charging, you'll see the price before you commit to anything. No surprise charges.
What do you do with my data?
I only use what you tell me to plan your meals, and I never sell it. The full picture is in my Privacy Policy.
